George represents and advises a broad range of lenders, bondholders, indenture trustees and other stakeholders in Canadian and cross-border proceedings commenced under the Bankruptcy and Insolvency Act, Companies’ Creditors Arrangement Act, Personal Property Security Act, Business Corporations Act and other commercial and insolvency-related statutes. He regularly acts as independent counsel to court-appointed receivers, trustees in bankruptcy and court-appointed inspectors, and has been appointed by the Ontario Superior Court of Justice as representative counsel on behalf of retail investors in court proceedings involving some of the largest Canadian syndicated mortgage administrations. He also regularly represents shareholders of private companies in the context of disputes, both in court proceedings and in alternative dispute processes, and private litigants in a broad array of complex commercial litigation spanning various areas and industries, including fraud investigations, real estate related disputes, shareholder remedies and debtor-creditor enforcement.
