Alex focuses her practice on secured lending and other financing transactions. She also works with clients on real estate matters relating to the acquisition and disposition of real property.
Alex holds a Bachelor of Commerce from the Haskayne School of Business at the University of Calgary, a Juris Doctor degree from the University of Windsor Faculty of Law and a Juris Doctor degree from the University of Detroit Mercy School of Law. She began her career with Chaitons LLP in 2016 as an articling student. Alex was called to the Bar in Ontario in 2017 and is also a licensed non-practicing attorney in the state of Illinois.
Prior to law school, Alex worked in private equity in Calgary, Alberta working for a portfolio manager in the client management and regulatory compliance. During law school, Alex was heavily involved in the Windsor and Detroit Chapter of Law Students for Reproductive Justice, which endeavours to raise awareness and money for, among other things, survivors of sexual assault in the City of Detroit. Outside of work, Alex is an avid swimmer with the Aurora Master Ducks. When she’s not in the pool, she’s exploring new trails around the GTA to hike with her golden-doodle, Murphy.
